This year, to celebrate science week, IRAP and IFCA have carried out a joint activity aimed at high school students.
French and Spanish students have collaborated in this initiative in which they have been able to learn how to use the CLAXSON programme for the classification of X-ray sources, being able to classify several objects themselves.
IRAP and IFCA staff from the XMM2Athena project also participated in the activity.
Natalie Webb, coordinator of the project, presented the initial talk, introducing the students to the objective of the work they were to do to perform and what it was going to be used for.
This is the first time that this initiative has been carried out and it has been very well received by the students, who have been able to feel like real scientists for a day. The students have rated the activity very positively, which motivates us to continue the idea in the coming years with the incorporation of more research institutes.
